The Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Jersey Branch is pleased to confirm the speaker for their next event for local Managers and Leaders on Thursday 28 February 2013 at the Royal Yacht Hotel.
The topic for February is “Employee Engagement and the Critical Role of the Line Manager” and will be presented by Mary Curtis. Mary is a Fellow of CIPD, Director of Calmera Business Consultancy and has over 25 years experience in HR, Learning and Development and is a tutor for CMI courses.
Alexsis Wintour, Chairman of CMI Jersey Branch commented, “ As a local Branch of CMI we feel this topic is very relevant to both CMI members and non members. There is more focus than ever on the requirement for Managers to engage with employees in their businesses. There is convincing evidence regarding the strong relationship between good management skills, high levels of employee engagement, and improvements in overall performance of the organisation. As Managers we constantly hear the phrase ”Our people are our most important asset “. Many companies, especially locally, face a challenge in investing in this as a priority, particularly with current challenges such as the present economic climate and increased international competition. With insight from Mary attendees will leave with some valuable practical tips and further steps they can take to achieve greater employee engagement in their business.”
The event starts from 12.15 pm with the Buffet open. Presentation runs from 12.30pm to 13.30pm with Q& A and networking from 13.30 pm
