The guaranteed minimum first prize for the Channel Islands Christmas Lottery has broken the £500,000 mark with only three weeks to go until the numbers are announced.
The prize, which now stands at £505,000, has risen by £85,000 in less than a week and continues to rise as Islanders make sure they have their tickets in time for the draw on the 20th December.
If tickets continue to sell at the same rate, the first prize will top last year’s record jackpot of £751,500. This will be good news, not only for one lucky winner but also for the many local charities who rely on grants made possible as a result of the Lottery.
Tickets for the Channel Islands Christmas Lottery cost £1 and are available from retailers across the Island. In addition to the rising first prize, Islanders can also win a £50,000 second prize, a £25,000 third prize and forty five £500 prizes, as well as instant cash prizes of up to £5,000.
