Thanks to substantial support from local companies Voisin and Volaw a number of the Island’s children will be enjoying a happy Christmas this year.
Voisin law firm and Volaw trust company have chosen to work with ‘The Inclusion Project’ from 2013. They are marking the partnership by funding the charities Winter Programme. The children will enjoy a number of festive activities, organised by the charities youth workers, including Ice Skating and a fantastic Christmas Party.
The Inclusion Project supports 11-25 year olds with special needs. The team runs four youth clubs a week around the Island and a number of exceptional programmes designed to enable development and also offer parents much needed respite.
The sponsorship of the winter programme also marks Volaw’s 30th Birthday. Established in 1982, the Company has now become one of Jersey’s largest independently owned trust companies with close to 100 employees. Staff from both Volaw and Voisin are looking forward to getting involved with their new charity and will be offering their time and fundraising assistance to The Inclusion Project as well as financial support.
Georgina Jeffries, Voisin and Volaw Marketing Manager, says:
‘Voisin and Volaw have a hands-on approach to sponsorship; we donate funds where needed but we also offer our time and get fully involved. We are over the moon to be sponsoring The Inclusion Project and can’t wait to see the young people enjoying their Christmas activities. Our support will not be ending in the new year, we are already organising events and fundraising activities for 2013 and hope to support the charity for many years to come.’
Leana D’orleans, Senior Youth Worker, The Inclusion Project, says:
‘The Inclusion Project makes such a difference to children with special needs. Often young people come to us feeling really isolated, they think that there is no one else like them, we show them that they are not alone and then build on their confidence from there. We are so excited about our winter programme and our youngsters have all been looking forward to the activities – especially the ice-skating! We can’t thank Voisin and Volaw enough for making this all possible, without their support some of the children would not be able to afford to go on the trips that make such a difference to their lives.’
