‘Cash for Coins’ – Use your old or foreign currency to help save species from extinction!
Ever wanted to know what to do with your old or foreign coins and notes? Now Durrell has the answer! We are asking all Jersey residents to donate their old or foreign coins and notes – perhaps left over from holidays or business trips – to help fill Durrell’s coffers.
This is the perfect opportunity to have a spring clean and help Durrell at the same time!
On Saturday 26 May, every copy of the Jersey Evening Post will include a collection envelope for islanders to fill with their old and foreign coins and notes. Collection points will also be placed at key places around the island including, Jersey Harbour, De Gruchy, Durrell Visitor Centre, local parish halls and schools (visit durrell.org/fundraising for a full list of collection points).
This appeal would not be possible without the generous support of Jersey Evening Post and Condor Ferries, who have kindly agreed to sponsor the shipment of the coins from Jersey to the UK.
The funds raised from this appeal will help Durrell in its pioneering conservation efforts around the globe. We have already made proven differences in saving species from extinction and with everyone’s help we can make even more of a difference!
We would be incredibly grateful if all islanders could have a good rummage at home for old or foreign currency and make a difference by donating it to Durrell!
Visit Durrell.org for a full list of collection points or for further help or information please call 01534 860017 or e-mail: rachel.macneil@durrell.org.
