Businesses Unite to revitalise Jersey Property Market

Jersey News, 4 November 2009 – Three Jersey businesses have joined forces to offer their advice for free at a property drop-in day that will provide anyone thinking of moving house with all the information they might need about finding the perfect property, the process of buying and selling a property, financing the purchase, and making a Will to ensure the property is passed on.

Experts from Voisin law firm, Choice Properties and The Mortgage Shop have come together for the first time to help people feel more secure about buying and selling property in the current economic climate.

The ‘360 Degree Property event’, to be held on Wednesday 11th November, aims to offer a complete overview of the property buying process. It is hoped that having all the experts under one roof will clarify the process and help people who are considering buying or selling in a recession.

Attendees will get the chance to: look at Choice’s property portfolio and ask questions about market prices and trends; speak to advisors from the Mortgage Shop about securing finance and current deposit levels; and get free impartial advice from Voisin’s lawyers regarding the legal implications and costs of buying property and securing your assets in a Will.

Organisers of the event hope to create a relaxed environment where the public can feel comfortable asking questions over a drink and nibbles. Anyone can drop in without an appointment between 12 and 2pm.

Eric Salaun, Voisin law firm, said:

‘Some people are worried about job security and therefore have put their moving plans on hold for the time being.  However, for those that need to move, those starting a family or scaling down, there is still activity in the market and a good selection of property available. There are also some interesting mortgage products and money from private lending available too. Our aim is to let buyers know this and encourage them to come along at whatever house buying stage they are.’

The 360˚ Property Drop-In Day will be held on Wednesday 11th November at Voisin, Templar House, Don Road, St Helier, 12 to 2pm. For more information the public can contact Georgina Jeffries Tel: 01534 500441 email:georginajeffries@voisinlaw.com
