Bois Bois law firm displays growing confidence in the Jersey legal and property market in 2013 with the appointment of a new partner.
Boutique law firm Bois Bois makes a confident start to 2013 by welcoming Advocate Georgina Cook as a partner to complement its well-regarded property, estate planning and commercial litigation practice. The expansion reflects the firm’s success in developing a refreshingly creative yet pragmatic approach in advising its clients and marks a bold contrast to the market trend.
The Jersey property market hit a high in summer 2008 in terms of numbers of transactions and prices achieved but has seen a significant decline over recent years. Bois Bois has noticed signs of an upturn in transactions in 2013 and Daniel Young and Georgina Cook would be pleased to discuss their observations and the innovative ways in which they are helping to kick-start the property market.
Introducing Georgina Cook
With over twelve years legal experience in Jersey, Georgina focuses on all aspects of property law, including commercial and residential sales and acquisitions together with leasehold work for offices and retail for both landlords and tenants. She also specialises in advising both new and existing businesses, with a particular expertise in liquor licensing and Regulation of Undertakings applications. Georgina’s expertise will assist Bois Bois in developing its client base of new businesses and individuals moving to the Island.
Daniel Young, partner commented, “Bois Bois is a niche firm with high quality lawyers that enjoy excellent relationships with their clients. This close relationship coupled with our commercial approach means that, despite tough market conditions, we help them to find innovative solutions to their problems. We aim to provide a consistently high quality service in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Georgina’s experience and commercial focus will further enhance that service.”
Georgina added, “Having been a partner at Appleby prior to this move, I have a good understanding of the commercial and personal needs of clients. Bois Bois stands apart in the Jersey legal market as providing a forward-thinking approach to its clients’ requirements whilst maintaining traditional Jersey customer values. It is a difficult time for both businesses and individuals, but with the right care and guidance, there are still deals to be done. With our combined expertise, Daniel and I are well-placed to facilitate the completion of those deals.”
