The Trust is delighted to announce that it has been bequeathed an historically important farmhouse in the Parish of St Helier. Located along La Grande Route de Mont à L’Abbé, and directly behind the West Hill Hotel, the delightfully sheltered granite farmhouse has a range of outbuildings to the east and north, as well as a further dwelling known as Courteenhall which is located on the rising land to the north west. Despite later alterations to the buildings it is believed that Bellozanne Abbey is a house of considerable age with Medieval origins.

The property has been bequeathed d by the late Miss Adeline Mundy, who was a well known local teacher at Mont Cantel.

Mrs Celia Jeune, President of The National Trust for Jersey, commented:

The bequest of Bellozanne Abbey is an immense privilege and the National Trust is deeply honoured that Miss Mundy should have chosen to place this very special property within our care for the benefit of the Island. With its wealth of historic fabric, fine Jersey furniture and peaceful setting, the National Trust will make every effort to care for it in the same impeccable way that Miss Mundy and her family have done over centuries past.
