Autumn Lunchtime Talks at 16 New Street
For the first time The National Trust for Jersey is inviting Islanders to attend a series of short lunchtime talks in the elegant surrounds of the beautifully restored Georgian town house, 16 New Street.
Each Wednesday from 24th October until 28th November, local experts will be talking about different aspects of Georgian culture including architecture, English painting and 18th century entertaining.
Peter Le Rossignol, whose antique shop in Halkett Place is a landmark of the town, and Melissa Bonn, Jersey’s representative for Christie’s auction house, will talk about the fashions and tastes of the period in order to establish a framework for its appreciation.
The talks will take place in the Club Room on the first floor of the house, between 1.15 and 1.45. Tickets are priced at £5.00, with payment made on the door. Please feel free to bring your sandwiches!
In order to book your seat, please contact Chris Addy at chris@nationaltrustjersey.org.je or telephone 07797-897959.
