Inspired by Gareth Malone’s BBC2 programme The Choir – Sing While You Work, offshore legal, fiduciary administration services provider, Appleby, has brought together a work place choir to raise money for charity this Christmas.
The 30 strong choir represents roles right across Appleby including Partners and Secretaries, with an equal amount of men and women taking part. The aim is for the choir to sing carols and Christmas songs at various locations around St Helier during the festive season to raise money for the locally based Motor Neurone Disease (MND) charity.
MND is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurones, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. Messages in the brain gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting. MND affects how a person walks, talks, eats, drinks and breathes. There is currently no cure for the disease but symptoms can be managed to improve the quality of life for people living with MND.
David Benest, Managing Partner, Appleby commented “The choir has been an excellent initiative for Appleby. It has brought people from all areas of the office together to have fun whilst raising money for this excellent cause.”
