AIRTEL-VODAFONE BRINGS IPHONE 4S TO ISLANDS

Jersey iPhone addicts will at last get their hands on the new Apple iPhone 4S today.

Airtel-Vodafone announced today that a first batch of the iconic handsets had arrived in the island and would go on sale immediately.

The company has a long list of people who have pre-registered for the long-awaited i4s, which was launched globally on 14 October, selling more than 4m handsets in the first three days on sale.

So far the phone has only been available in the US, UK, Japan, Australia, Canada, France and Germany, but it is being rolled out in a further 22 countries today.

Vinod Sud, Chief Executive Officer at Airtel-Vodafone, said:

‘With our backing from two global brands, we always aim to be the first to bring desirable new technology to the islands.

‘Demand for the iPhone is always huge and we’re prepared for a big rush of customers.’
