Students in Jersey considering starting a business-related degree at university this year have just a few days left to apply for a bursary being offered by the Jersey Society of Chartered and Certified Accountants (JSCCA)

Now in its third year, the JSCCA Bursary, valued at a total of up to £5,000 each year for three years of study, is designed to help students from Jersey attend university and pursue a business related undergraduate degree.

The closing date for applications for the academic year beginning September 2013 is Wednesday 20th February 2013, and the JSCCA is encouraging local students to make the most of the opportunity and apply. Application forms can be downloaded from, where potential applicants can also find out more about the JSCCA.

Chris Stuart, Head of Training for the JSCCA, commented:

“We are delighted to be able to offer this Bursary once again and hope that we can make a real difference to a local student’s academic life. Funding a degree course can be difficult – often prohibitive – and we are keen to ensure that Jersey’s business leaders of tomorrow are given an opportunity to pursue their academic interests and fulfil their potential.

“The application process is not arduous. It involves an initial screening process looking at predicted A-Level grades and a student’s ability to otherwise afford funding their tuition and maintenance, followed by an interview. I would strongly urge local students to consider applying in time for our 20th February deadline.”
