One lucky Channel Islander will be celebrating later today after scooping a massive £686,000 jackpot on the Channel Islands Christmas Lottery.

The top prize has risen over the last eight weeks in line with the number of tickets sold and there is no doubt that the final first prize figure confirmed at £686,000 will make a huge difference to somebody’s life just in time for Christmas.

In addition to the first prize, Islanders will also be in with a chance to win a £50,000 second prize, a £25,000 third prize and forty five £500 prizes. The winning numbers will be announced at gov.je, via Facebook and on Channel Report at 6.30pm this evening.

Since its launch in October, lottery organisers in Jersey have been encouraging Islanders to get behind the Christmas Lottery and support local charities by promoting the Lottery campaign message ‘have fun, win big, do good’ and more retailers than ever before have been selling the tickets, including several charities. Charities across the Island will be celebrating the news of the impressive jackpot, as many rely on grants made possible from the proceeds of the Lottery.

For details of the winning numbers as they are announced and to find out more about the charities that benefit from the Lottery, lottery organisers in Jersey are encouraging residents to visit their Channel Islands Lottery in Jersey Facebook page www.facebook.com/ChannelIslandsLotteryJersey
